Ecology: The Morlocks live under the surface of the Earth in the year 802,701 AD. There they maintain great machines and engines, providing the surface-dwelling Eloi with food and clothing. Occasionally they come to the surface, especially on the new moon, and prey on lone Eloi, taking them below to serve as food for the Morlocks.

Personality/Motivation: Normal sentient humanoid motivations.

Powers/Tactics: Morlocks are small in size and quite agile. Their life in the darkness of the underworld has resulted in their eyes allowing them to see in nearly total darkness Morlocks are very quiet when they move and are described as agile and dexterous. However, they cannot stand light of any kind, and a mere lit match may be enough to drive them off. Bright light will blind them and send them into a possible panic.

A lone Morlock will flee from an encounter, usually to vanish down the wells that lead to their underground world. However, a small group of Morlocks is far more bold, and will attack someone larger then themselves.

Appearance: A typical Morlock stands about 4' in height with a lean build. Their skin is dull white, the eyes are greyish-red, and the pale "flaxen" hair falls down from the head to run along the back. The face is "nauseatingly inhuman," lacking both a chin and eyelids

Designer's Notes: The situation between the Morlock and the Eloi cannot last, and eventually these few, degenerate, descendants of man will die out, although in the extracted portion Chapter 11 of The Time Machine (titled "The Grey Man") we find mankind has become a small kangaroo-like creature, hopping about and serving as prey for an immense centipede-like animal.

As for the Eloi, they hardly need a character sheet. Like the Morlocks, they stand around 4' in height. They have a 5 STR and an 8 in all other Characteristics except COM, which is a 14-16. They have virtually no Skills, beyond basic singing and dancing. They might be immune to disease, or they might not, it depends on how you view the future to have come about.
