Background/History: Usopp father left him in his childhood with only his mother to raise him. In hopes that his father would return he would run through the village screaming "The pirates are coming!". This soon become a ritual and hope that one day his father would return. A few years later his mother died of an illness. This leaving him alone and the desire to see his father again pursued him to make the choice, he wants to become a pirate. During this time he gathered a befriended three children in the village. During this time he started to "train" to become pirates (or more accurately children pretending to be pirates). Soon he gathered a reputation of being a boy who could weave tall tales. He even enthralled the heir to the town, Kayla into listening to his tales.
Life continued as normal, until a group of three pirates "invaded" the island. Monkey D. Luffy was the captains name. This in even causes a series of events that forced the care taker of Kayla to show his true identity and try to kill Kayla and the villagers. Unknowing to him he was defeated by the Straw hat pirates. He also discovered that Luffy knew his father (who was part of Shank's crew). He voyaged off with Luffy to one day seek and find his father.
Personality/Motivation: First and foremost, Usopp is a coward and a liar. This actually is much worse than it is really. While he is a coward, he is willing to put himself into danger when it means protecting something that he considers dear. This doesn't mean his personality changes from coward to iron wall of resistance, he still shakes in his boots but tries his best. Also Usopp lies. It's a fact of what makes him Usopp. He himself stated that he will never lie to hurt anyone but use it in a benevolent fashion, like telling stories to Kayla.
Powers/Tactics: Usopp does very well in combat against people that doesn't show any exceptional skills. He is a marksmen with his slingshot and prefers to use rapid attacks against multiple opponents. His slingshot being is his prime form of combat he has a few different forms of ammunitions. The basic being balled lead which he fires at the enemy. While this might seen not much of a threat, he was able to defeat four people when he went to save Kayla with nothing but his slingshot. He also has a form of lead ammunition that is filled with Tabasco that explodes and burns the eyes. He also has an ammunition he rarely uses, probably because it has a good chance to kill someone, one filled gunpowder. Usopp doesn't just use the ammunition listed in his multipool, he is well known to use anything around him as a weapon. He uses eggs to blind opponents and rocks in the slingshot when out of ammunition. Of course, Usopp doesn't use the powers of his slingshot alone, he uses the hammer in close combat if he does decide to enter combat. He is proficient with this hammer able to attack with precise and surprising speed. He doesn't like to use the hammer because it usually means he has to confront his enemy face to face instead of his preferred tag and run tactics.
His greatest ability is the ability to outrun just about anybody and anything. He has quick strong legs that he uses to run far enough to get a good shoot off. He than continues to run until he can get anther good shot. This most likely will continue until he runs out of ammunition or he tires out.
Usopp also has a few other methods of combat that is worth explaining, or should I say ways to avoid combat. He has a grappling hook, which is the series he has only used to rappel down surfaces for quick escapes but I can't find an excuse couldn't he use it to climb or swing. He also keeps in that bag of his, a few packets of caltrops which he randomly throws around him. This allows him and those who around him a few extra seconds of safety from hand to hand attacks but also leaves them so he can't escape himself.
Usopp also has a pair of goggles that rests on top of his head, later in the series (and the pair this character sheet is based on) he acquires a pair of technological goggles that doubles as a telescope.
Appearance: Usopp most prominent feature when you first notice him is his nose, a Pinocchio-like branch "appendage" roosts where his nose should be. He also has thick lips and buggy eyes. Beyond his face, he has black curly hair which is comes down to his neck. He also wears a yellow plaid bandana on his head with a pair of goggles resting on top. He usually wears a sleeveless pair of brown overalls with a large pocket on the front. The bottom shows a little color, white cuffs. He also wears a white waistband slightly above his waist giving him a 'nerdy' appearance (not to mention that the pants reach half up his shins). At his side, he keeps a ball closed purse that he keeps provisions, his slingshot and a grappling hook.
