Description: Captain Flint is a huge man made from solid stone. He stands 7'9", weighs 3400 lbs and is made from solid flint. The pupils of his eyes are like small flames and he strikes sparks from his body if he brushes his hands together. When he speaks it is in an eerie whisper.
Captain Flint was an unfortunate passenger on the Queen Mary when the ship sailed into a cloud of active Wild Card viruses. After a night of agony, he found himself transformed into a giant stone man. Undeterred, Captain Flint took command of the Queen Mary and guided it into New York harbor. Afterwards he finally turned into an immobile statute. Presumed deceased, he was shipped home to England, where he was buried a hero. His coffin was poorly made, however, and within two years sufficient mud and water had seeped inside to allow Flint to break free, stuffing himself with mud and mineral water along the way. Afterwards he became England's most famous and highly regarded ace, serving the Crown by recruiting other aces to serve the government.
Campaign Use and Designer’s Notes: Captain Flint is one of the few characters from Aces Abroad that I actually like. Many of the others remind me of the logic behind European Enemies, in which the characters are heavily based on the local folklore, mythology, and/or culture, as opposed to people from other countries with superhuman powers. Anyway, as you can see from his character sheet, while very, very tough, Captain Flint is very, very slow. If you wish to use him in a more standard Champions game, I’d increase his DEX to around 13 to 15 and give him at least a 3 SPD. While still very slow, at least he’s not a glacier.
