HYU-PYRA

Found in shallow tropical seas, the hyu-pyra are thought by sailors to prey on anyone unlucky to fall overboard. As it is, other mer-folk consider them savages, especially considering the hyu-pyra's hunter-gatherer lifestyle, as opposed to the farming and fish-herding societies of regular mer-folk.
