THE DARK RIDER

As seems to happen all too often, power corrupts. In this case, the Kingdom of Krydor has fallen under the rule of an evil and selfish despot who, while the legitimate ruler, thinks nothing of grinding down his people though high taxes and oppressive laws. The people of Krydor have a hope however, in the form of the otherwise nameless "Dark Rider." A highwayman in the mold of Robin Hood, the Dark Rider is a fierce warrior, capable of taking on an entire Royal Enforcement Squad single-handedly. The Dark Rider regularly strikes at tax collectors, sheriffs, and other government officials, usually distributing anything he takes to the poor and needy. The primary reason for his success is the fact the Dark Rider is the king's own son, who's opposed to his father's rule and wishes to see him overthrown.
