Description: One of the tallest races in the Well, Running People average six feet in height, with many taller than that. They are long-legged, even for their height, and are noted for their unparalleled running speed (common wisdom is to never challenge a Running Person to a footrace or accept such a challenge.) As a rule, they’re dark skinned, ranging from light tan to dark brown. Their hair is often in sharp contrast to their skin, either far lighter or much, much darker. They have ears similar to the Leaping People, but even longer and shaped much like those of a deer.

The Running People are found mostly on the Plains. They dwell both in Farming Person settlements, and in their own communities, which are usually arraigned along tribal lines. Running People tribes tend to be semi-nomadic herders, tend to vast herds of cattle as well as growing crops. This often brings them into conflict with tribes of Plans-dwelling Hunting People who seek to capture their cattle.

As with many other races, Running People who live in mixed-race communities will dress and act according to the societal mores of that community. Independent Plans-dwelling tribes, however, tend to dress in a fashion that allows them to run at speed easily. Thus, their clothing often only covered the torso and upper arms, and leaves most of their legs bare. They also tend to wear close fitting harnesses to carry tools and weapons, as anything loose would simply flop around while moving at full speed.

This character sheet represents an average Running Person warrior. Non-warriors, as well as younger (and older) Running People will have slightly lower Characteristic and different Skills.
