Background/History: Humperdink is a totally self-centered, evil, nasty, black-hearted prince who is the main villain of The Princess Bride. The world's greatest hunter, he is primarily concerned with war as well as tracking down and killing just about any animal that exists, just for the fun of it. He doesn't really care about anyone else, and (in the book), is only unhappy at his father's failing health because that means he'll have to become king and stop spending all his time hunting.
Personality/Motivation: Hunting is the Prince's most favorite love. Once he starts, he will not give up, and will pursue his prey to the ends of the earth, and not to mention to the death. He is also quite cold-hearted, marrying Buttercup just so he can kill her, start a war and conquer Guilder. On the other hand, he is shown to be a bit of a coward when the tables are turned against him.... Humperdink's Disadvantages are a bit skimpy, interested GMs should fill in additional Disadvantages as needed.
Quote: "I think everything is a trap, that's why I'm still alive."
Powers/Tactics: For starters, Humperdink is strong—very strong. He wrestles an orangutan to death in an early chapter in the book by putting it into a hold and squeezing. Humperdink is also fascinated with hunting, and is an expert tracker, being able to "... track a falcon on a cloudy day...".
Humperdink's extensive hunting excursions are responsible for two of his more unusual abilities. The first is the ability to figure out events based on tracks left behind. It's so accurate that it's been bought as a form of Retrocognition, requiring a successful Tracking roll. Normally, Humperdink's Tracking roll is a 17-, but as this is a base roll, GM's should make adjustments depending on terrain and time spent looking around. Having once been surprised by a wounded animal, Humperdink is also quite sensitive to the smell of blood, and can detect and attack an injured opponent by the smell of blood alone. Finally, numerous hunting trips have enabled him to run almost non-stop without tiring. Naturally, he is also an experienced fencer
Appearance: Humperdink isn't very tall, but is broad, shaped "... like a barrel. His chest was a great barrel chest, his thighs mighty barrel thighs. ... he weighed close to 250 pounds, brick hard."
